Lambda Alpha Chapter Introducing "The La La's!"
This Year's Theme for 2011-2012 is........
Dear La La Sisters,
It is said that traditions are the ties that bind us. They remind us where we came from and
give us a sense of belonging. Just like the traditions in our families, we have many traditions
in Beta Sigma Phi. They are a part of our history.
Our theme this year is Building Our Future on Traditions. Beta Sigma Phi has many time-
honored traditions that we enjoy in addition to the traditions we have established in our
own chapter. Among some of those traditions are pledge training, rushing, the yellow rose,
secret sisters, chapter yearbooks, Beginning Day, Chapter Anniversary and Founder's Day.
It is both our privilege and responsibility to not only continue these traditions but to create
new traditions for future generations. As we start this new year let's pledge to hold onto
these traditions that have been passed down to us insuring the strength of our beloved sorority.
I look forward to a year full of Life, Learning and Friendship.

Throughout the course of the sorority year, which runs from the end of August to the end of June, chapter members may participate in chapter social events other than regular meetings. These events will be a ladies only event or sometimes a mixed social where spouses are welcome. Lambda Alpha is an Enthusiastic Chapter and we are looking forward to many fun ways to get our sorority year off to its new start.
Another important part of Lambda Alpha is our dedication to finding a way every year to somehow assist those who are in need. We look forward to working with our chapter service committee to help provide the chapter with various options for how Lambda Alpha may make a difference within the community. We hope to sponsor families at Christmas and Easter, donate money to needy causes, collect items for the Food Bank and other items such as toiletries and clothing to be collected for a Woman's Shelter. To make donations to our service projects possible, Lambda Alpha members will participate in upcoming fund raising events.

Building Our Future On Traditions
Dear La La Sisters,

The Lambda Alpha Chapter, a Ritual of Jewels Chapter is Three years old! We are a Career chapter, meaning that we have both a business meeting and a program during the course of an evening and we meet once a month. For those new pledges who are not familiar with the term program, it refers to the educational or cultural aspect of our evening. A program may consist of a craft, guest speaker, or some other interesting mode of learning. We are a very diverse group with regards to personal interests and professions. We have members who are homemakers, ladies who are professionals and some members who are now enjoying the freedom of retirement! Our members range in ages from their 50's to 70's. Lambda Alpha's meetings are held on the 2rdThursday of every month at 7:00 pm in Newnan, Georgia . This allows time to enjoy refreshments and visit with our Sisters following the meeting and program. I am not sure this is the correct Chapter in Georgia, but I am trying to find the correct one to notify the death of Gina Lecourve (Little). I am a friend of her aunt and a life member. If you knew Gina or her chapter please e-mail me mhulewicz2424 at comcast.net.
